HP Proliant DL785 G6 is an 8 socket x86 server, supporting up to sight Six-Core AMD Opteron Processors, 523GB of memory, 11 PCI-e I/O slots or an optional I/O backplane with 7 PCI-e & 2 HTx I/O slots. Config Notes
- Display: To use the intel display driver, please apply the kernel maintenance updates first.
- Audio: There is no microphone/audio interface on this system. Recording and playback of sound is not supported
- Desktop Effects: Graphics driver/adapter does not support desktop effects.
- Install: PXE Boot, OS Installed via Network.
- Power Management: System/Processor does not support throttling.
- Power Management: System/Processor does not support dynamic CPU frequency scaling.
- Display: For display to work after install, the fbdev driver needs to be used. (1) Edit the file /etc/X11/xorg.conf (2) Under section "Screen" comment out all lines beginning with virtual (3) Under section "Device" change the driver to "fbdev" (4) Save /etc/X11/xorg.conf (5) Edit /boot/grub/menu.lst (6) Add the kernel parameters "vga=0x318 nomodeset" to the appropriate line (7) save /boot/grub/menu.lst (8) Reboot
