SUSE YES Certified for the following products:
Operating Systems:
|
SUSE® Linux Enterprise Server 11 for x86
Service Pack 1 for SUSE® SLES 11 |
Product Description
The x3850 X5 server is the fifth generation of the Enterprise X-Architecture, delivering innovation with enhanced reliability and availability features to enable performance for databases, enterprise applications, and virtualized environments. Environments that run around the clock to supply information world-wide require dependable servers with features that can tolerate a component failure without total shutdown.
The x3850 X5 server packs numerous fault-tolerant and high-availability features into a high-density, rack-optimized package that helps to reduce the space needed to support massive network computing operations. A single x3850 X5 with the MAX 5 memory drawer supports up to four of Intel's high-performance processors and up to 1.5 TB of memory. Two x3850 X5 servers with two MAX 5 memory drawers can be connected together to form a single-system image with up to eight processors and up to 3 TB of RAM. This processing capacity is ideal for large-scale database or virtualization requirements.

Config Notes
- Power management: Hibernation/Suspend to Disk/ACPI S4 is NOT supported on this system.
- Power management: System/Processor does NOT support fan thermal scaling.
- Graphics: Video driver used in testing was downloaded from http://www.hp.com/support/workstations. Video driver is not SolidDriver-compliant and requires installation of kernel source and development tools.
- Kdump: the crash kernel reserved memory parameter was changed to 256 (crashkernel=512M-:256M) for kdump to function correctly.
- System was tested with an Intel I210-T1 added as a second network adapter. The standard system configuration does not include the I210-T1 adapter.
