The Hitachi Universal Storage Platforma V is powred by the fourth-genaration Hitachi crossbar switch architecture .With its powerful controller-based virtualization ,Hitachi data system is in a unique position to package and deliver storage service accross heterogeneous storage assets ,whether file ,object or block-based.powered by an enhanced Hitachi Universal Star network V crossbar switch arcitecture with faster internal processors ,4Gb/sec hosts ports,4GB/sec disks,and 4Gb/sec switched-loop back-end directors, it provides 40% more system performance and further extends the scalability and enterprise class functionality virtulitation of external storage, logical partitioning ,and universal replicational introduced with its predecessor,the Hitachi Universal Storage platform.
