Product Description
The server system features a motherboard with two J type CPU sockets that accommodates a one or two AMD CPU's, and features the SR5650/SR5670/SR5690 Northbridge/SP5100 Southbridge chipsets. Twelve unbuffered and registered DDR3 DIMM slots for each motherboard enable you to add up to 96GB of total memory. ECC support provides extra security against system failure. Six SATA connectors for each motherboard provide maximum flexibility in installing hard drives. Each motherboard with twelve DIMMs of the Dell server has a full range of I/O ports, including three USB ports (two external and one internal), two Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports from Intel® 82576, one 10/100 Managment port from BCM5221, one 9-pin serial port, and one 15-pin VGA port.

Config Notes

This is a SAN boot only system.
The Hitachi SAS 3004 iMR ROMB and local HDD (hard disk drives) are not supported on this configuration.
Install: The SLES install was performed using a virtual DVD device.
The driver "hfcldd.ko" used during testing is SUSE SolidDriver Program compliant. The driver was installed from the driver update disk (DUD) "dud-htc-hfcldd-4.15.22.4342.iso" and the driver package "htc-hfcldd-kmp-default-4.15.22.4342_4.12.14_195-1.sles15sp1.x86_64.rpm". To obtain DUD and the driver package, go to http://www.hitachi.co.jp/products/bladesymphony/download/driver/12347905.html. DUD can be used to install SUSE Linux Enterprise Server(SLES) to the SAN storage, and driver package can be installed after the SLES installation.
The driver "ixgbe.ko" used during testing is SUSE SolidDriver Program compliant. The driver ixgbe used for Intel(R) 10GbE PCI Express Family of Server Adapters is named "ixgbe-kmp-default-5.6.3_k4.12.14_195-h1b.x86_64.rpm".
