Product Description
The Brocade 1010 (single port) Converged Network Adapters (CNAs) provide the industry's best-in-class server connectivity for networking and FC storage I/O consolidation, leveraging Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) and Converged Enhanced Ethernet (CEE) technology. Brocade 1010 is designed to manage true end-to-end SAN services and enhanced server virtualization across next generation data centers. Brocade 1010 maximzes bus throughput with the PCIe 2.0a Gen2 (x8) bus interface, delivers up to 500,000 IOPs and 10Gbps throughput in full-duplex mode per port.

Config Notes
- Headless configuration - no graphics adapter. System configured using IBM remote Hardware Management Console (HMC) for graphics, keyboard and mouse.
- Power management: The System/Processor dynamic CPU frequency scaling functionality in SLES is not supported on POWER8 as this functionality is provided by the POWER8 hardware its-self.
- Required configuration: SLES 11 SP3 will run in POWER7 Compatibility mode. 'Compatibility mode' simply means that the POWER8 processor with SMT8 will act as though it were a POWER7 processor with SMT4.
- Kdump: the crash kernel reserved memory parameters were changed based on the content in the following knowledge-base article: http://www.novell.com/support/kb/doc.php?id=3374462.
- Install: The SUSE® Linux Enterprise Server install was performed using a network install method.
- SUSE update ISO: The SLES-11-SP3-MINI-ISO-power8.iso is SUSE SolidDriver Program compliant. This update must be downloaded and used before SUSE Linux Enterprise Server install. To obtain the driver go to: http://drivers.suse.com/ibm/IBM-POWER/sle11-sp3/install-readme.html and review the installation instructions.
