Product Description
The new TX300 S6 offers maximum levels of
availability and expandability as a result of hot plug,
redundant versions. It has powerful performance
features as supplied by the leading Intel® Xeon®
processor X5680 together with an 8-port
SAS 2.0 controller and fast PCIe Gen2 connections.
Continuity is ensured as a result of the modular
RAID, redundant Dual LAN features and optional
redundant hot-plug power supply and fans. The
Cool-safe™ technology in the new honeycomb
design ensures optimal temperatures despite peak
workloads and thus ensures long-life. Optimal
performance and high energy efficiency is achieved
via a highly efficient power supply (92% energy
efficiency), a largely no-cable motherboard and
state of the art power management features. The
PRIMERGY TX300 S6 has 18 DIMM slots for memory
mirroring with up to 192 GB DDR3 RAM. The
PRIMERGY TX300 S6 is exactly the right platform for
business-critical remote sites.

Config Notes
- Install: System installed via network PXE UEFI boot; the OS was installed using the UEFI boot loader and system configuration. Hard Disk Configuration: RAID 5. Xen Hypervisor: the hypervisor was booted with following additional parameters: dom0_mem=4G dom0_max_vcpus=4.
- Kdump: the crash kernel reserved memory parameters were increased from the default to "crashkernel=187M,high crashkernel=142M,low" using YaST.
- VM Driver Pack: All guests were tested with PV drivers installed. The SLES drivers are included with the OS. The Windows 2012 R2 drivers are available from https://download.suse.com/ (VMDP-WIN-2.3.exe).
- PCI Network Pass-Through: System was tested using PCI pass-through where one of the host network adapters was given to one of the SLES 12 guests. The Intel® 82572EI Gigabit Ethernet adapter was used for this testing.
