Product Description
The PRIMERGY RX600 S5 is a high performance and highly expandable Quad-socket rack server that combines balanced scalability for Memory, I/O and processing power with enhanced server reliability. RX600 S5 is designed for heavy lifting work, providing customers in the upper-mid-market as well as large enterprises an ideal platform for running performance-hungry back-end services, such as large database systems, ERP and CRM applications, e-commerce systems or as a corporate messaging platform. In addition, consolidating multiple systems or workloads on to fewer, more powerful servers using latest virtualization technologies can now be achieved with even higher rationalization efficiency thanks to doubled up memory ceiling and 8 times improved I/O bandwidth. Config Notes
- The driver be2net.ko used during testing is not SUSE SolidDriver Program compliant. The driver was installed from the following driver package: elx-be2net-dd-sles11-10.0.800.0-1.tar.gz. This driver package can be downloaded and installed after the SLES install.
To obtain the driver go to: http://www.emulex.com/downloads/emulex/drivers/linux/sles-11/previous-releases/feb2014rt100/
- This is a SAN boot only system.
- The driver htc-hfcldd.ko used during testing is SUSE SolidDriver Program compliant. The driver was installed from the driver update disk(DUD) "dud-htc-hfcldd-4.11.17.2166.iso" and the driver package "htc-hfcldd-kmp-default-4.11.17.2166_3.0.76_0.11-1.sles11sp3.x86_64.rpm". To obtain DUD and the driver package log onto : https://portal.hds.com. The Hitachi customer has to be a member of "HDS support portal" to access the driver for download. DUD can be used to install SUSE Linux Enterprise Server(SLES) to the SAN storage, and driver package can be installed after the SLES installation. To install SLES to the SAN storage, refer to the document "Hitachi Gigabit Fibre Channel Adapter Users Guide(SLES Driver Edition)" on https://portal.hds.com
- Install: The SLES install was performed using a virtual DVD device.
