Product Description
The IBM SurePOS 300 4810-32x is ideal for small to medium-sized retail operations and value chain stores that want an affordable POS solution that offers a lot of flexibility for store placement and functionality. The small system unit with distributed peripherals, plus the choice of thin-client or thick-client configurations with a wide range of media options, means the IBM SurePOS 300 can be used for virtually anyway or anywhere in the store.

Config Notes

Kdump (SLE12SP3): the crash kernel reserved memory parameters were increased from the default to crashkernel=163M,high crashkernel=112M,low using YaST.
Install: System installed using the internal DVD drive; the OS was installed from DVD using the UEFI boot loader configuration. Configuration does not support PXE boot/install. Hard disk configuration: RAID 1. Xen Hypervisor: the hypervisor was booted with and requires the following additional load parameters: dom0_mem=8G dom0_max_vcpus=4.
SR-IOV: System was tested using SR-IOV where a virtual network adapter was given to the SLES 12 SP3 FV guest. One of the internal Ethernet Server Adapter I350-T2 was used in this testing.
VM Driver Pack: All guests were tested with PV drivers installed. The SLES drivers are included with the OS. The Windows Server 2016 drivers are available from http://download.suse.com (VMDP-WIN-2.4.exe).
