Config Notes
- Kdump: the crash kernel reserved memory parameters were changed based on the content in the following knowledge-base article: https://www.suse.com/support/kb/doc.php?id=3374462
- Headless configuration - no graphics adapter. System configured using IBM remote Hardware Management Console (HMC) for graphics, keyboard and mouse
- Install: The SUSE® Linux Enterprise Server install was performed using a network install method
- Power management: The System/Processor dynamic CPU frequency scaling functionality in SLES is not supported on POWER8 (PowerVM) as this functionality is provided by the POWER8 hardware itself.
- Maintenance updates: the SUSE® Linux Enterprise Server for IBM Power 12 SP1 system requires the following two maintenance updates, 1) kernel-default-3.12.57-60.35.1.ppc64le.rpm. The system can be updated after the initial install. This update can be downloaded from: https://download.suse.com/Download?buildid=qd0PaT_bWqU~ and 2) kexec-tools 1056 update available at: https://download.suse.com/Download?buildid=8uWJi0YOv-o~.
