Product Description
The IBM SurePOS 4800-721 is an Entry model of the IBM SurePOS 700 (xx1 series) which is a point-of-sale (POS) system for retailers and grocers. It allows them to take advantage of the latest technology to improve the customer experience while streamlining operations and leveraging existing investments. Available in a range of flexible, rugged systems that can be customized for any environment, these solutions deliver the advanced performance and reliability retailers have come to expect from IBM. Engineered to be attractive, easy to use and easy to maintain, the IBM SurePOS 700 supports diverse third-party applications and on demand operating environments.

Config Notes

Hard Disk Configuration: RAID 0
PCI Network Pass-Through: System was tested using PCI pass-through where one of the host network adapters was given to one of the SLES 11 SP3 x86-64 guests. The embedded Intel® Ethernet Controller I350-AM4 (Quad Port) adapter was used during this testing.
VM Driver Pack: All FV guests were tested with PV drivers installed. The SLES 11 SP3 drivers are included with the OS. The Windows 2012 drivers are available from http://download.novell.com (VMDP-WIN-2.1.exe).
Install: System installed using external USB connected DVD drive; the OS was installed using the UEFI boot loader and system configuration.
