Product Description
The Intel Server Board S5500HCV is designed for affordable performance, targeting vertical-specific applications. With nine DIMMs of DDR3 memory and high-end features, such as integrated management, onboard SW RAID, and high performance dual Gigabit Ethernet, the Intel Server Board S5500HCV performs well in small to medium business environments.

Config Notes

Install: System installed via network PXE UEFI boot; the OS was installed using the UEFI boot loader and system configuration. Tested as a 1-node scalable partition with 4 Compute Books. Hard disk configuration: RAID 6. Xen Hypervisor: the hypervisor was booted with following additional parameters: dom0_mem=16G dom0_max_vcpus=10.
Kdump: the crash kernel reserved memory parameters were increased from the default to "crashkernel=198M,high crashkernel=122M,low" using YaST.
VM Driver Pack: All guests were tested with PV drivers installed. The SLES drivers are included with the OS. The Windows 2012 R2 drivers are available from https://download.suse.com/ (VMDP-WIN-2.3.exe).
SR-IOV/PCI Pass-through: Current system configuration does not support network SR-IOV or network PCI Pass-through.
Maintenance update: SLES 12 SP1 "grub2 1027" updates are required and were installed during certification testing.
