Product Description
The IBM 4800-784/E84 constitutes a significant technological and functional enhancement to the SurePOS 700 product line. With industry-leading technologies, the systems run running smoothly while reducing IT management costs. Model E84 is identical to Model 784, with Embedded POSReady. They feature IBM Light-Path Management and IBM Remote Management Agent for proactive monitoring and remote updates. All models also feature a virtually tool-free design that offers easy serviceability through secure front access to the system unit. This allows store employees to replace units and swap out parts quickly and easily -- helping to ensure maximum uptime and reduce service costs. An optional cable arm provides complete front-side access to rear cabling without having to move the system unit from its normal position at the POS, further enhancing serviceability. Ultimately, these features help retailers reduce management and service costs while delivering the flexibility businesses need to respond to changing trends and marketplaces with a compelling customer experience.

Config Notes

Serial/USB/VGA port(s): provided through KVM connector console breakout cable which supplies one RS232 serial port, one VGA port and two USB ports. The system also has one internal USB port.
Install: System installed via network PXE UEFI boot; the OS was installed using the UEFI boot loader and system configuration. Hard Disk Configuration: RAID 0.
VM Driver Pack: All FV guests were tested with PV drivers installed. The SLES drivers are included with the OS. The Windows 2012 R2 drivers are available from https://download.suse.com/ (VMDP-WIN-2.2.exe).
Xen Hypervisor: the hypervisor was booted with following additional parameters: dom0_mem=10G dom0_max_vcpus=10.
