It’s a 2-Socket, 2U high-capacity, multi-purpose rack server that offers a balance of internal storage, redundancy, and value in a compact 24” depth chassis. With the performance of the Intel® Xeon® X5670 processor, DDR3 memory and enterprise-class manageability, the PowerEdge R510 is ideal for customers needing large amounts of internal storage capacity and/or seeking a multi-purpose core application server such as remote sites, larger corporate departments, and small and medium businesses.

Config Notes

Install: System installed via network PXE UEFI boot; the OS was installed using the UEFI boot loader and system configuration. Hard disk configuration: RAID 0. Xen Hypervisor: the hypervisor was booted with and requires the following additional load parameters: dom0_mem=16G dom0_max_vcpus=2 (parameters are required, specific values can be changed).
PCI Network Pass-Through: System was tested using PCI pass-through where one of the host network adapters was given to the SLES 12 SP4 FV guest. One of the internal Intel Ethernet Controller I210-IT adapters was used for this testing.
