Product Description
SGI® Octane™ III OC3-2TY11 graphics workstation capitalizes on advanced graphics capabilities. Conceived, designed and built by SGI on the shoulders of its workstations from the past, Octane III is available as a single-node dual-socket graphics workstation with support for fast graphics and GP-GPU cards to take high-performance graphics into the 21st century. Octane III is optimized for use with multiple display solutions for expanded advanced visual computing scenarios.

Config Notes

Integrated Network: One of the Intel I350-AM4 quad-port network adapter ports was configured as a dedicated port for Integrated Management Module II (IMM2) connection. Leaving three network ports available for the standard user network.
Install: System installed via network PXE UEFI boot; the OS was installed using the UEFI boot loader and system configuration. Hard Disk Configuration: RAID 0
VM Driver Pack: All FV guests were tested with PV drivers installed. The SLES drivers are included with the OS. The Windows 2012 R2 drivers are available from https://download.suse.com/ (VMDP-WIN-2.2.exe).
SR-IOV: System was tested using SR-IOV where a virtual network adapter was given to the SLES 12 x86_64 guest. One of the embedded Intel Ethernet Controller I350-AM4 (Quad Port) adapters was used in this testing.
