SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12 Service Pack 1 (SLES 12 SP1)
POWER8 (ppc64le)

When installing SLES 12 SP1 for ppc64le on an IBM Power System equipped with a large amount of memory, the installation may fail.

Workaround :
During SLES 12 SP1 installation, pass on the kernel command line boot parameter : "squash=0".
Following the installation, it is no longer a requirement to pass on the  "squash=0" command line boot parameter when booting the system.

Solution :
This has been resolved in SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12 Service Pack 2 (SLES 12 SP2).

Additional Information

The installer error message on the console refers to  "No Repository Found".
In the linuxrc.log the error message:  "mount: mksquashfs failed" will be observed.
