OCFS2 Filesystem Resource Fails to Mount after Upgrade

This document (7005249) is provided subject to the disclaimer at the end of this document.

Environment

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 (SLES10)
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 (SLES11)
SUSE Linux Enterprise High Availability Extension 11 (HAE)
Oracle Cluster File System (OCFS2)

Situation

After upgrading from SLES10 to SLES11, OCFS2 resources will not mount properly. The /var/log/messages reports the following:

# RA output: (xenvm:1:start:stderr) mount.ocfs2: Cluster stack specified does not match the one currently running while trying to join the group

Resolution

Run fsck.ocfs2 on the filesystem resource to update the cluster stack to pacemaker.

HAE1:~ # fsck.ocfs2 /dev/sdb1

[RECOVER_CLUSTER_INFO] The running cluster is using the pcmk stack with the cluster name pacemaker, but the filesystem is configured for the classic o2cb stack. Thus, fsck.ocfs2 cannot determin whether the filesystem is in use. Fsck.ocfs2 can reconfigure the filesystem to use the currently running cluster configuration. DANGER: YOU MUCH BE ABSOLUTLEY SURE THAT NO OTHER NODE IS using THIS FILESYSTEN BEFORE MODIFYING ITS CLUSTER CONFIGURATION. Recover cluster configruation information the running cluster? y

/dev/sdb1 is clean.  It will be checked after 20 additional mounts.

Additional Information

If you have difficulties running a filesystem check, refer to TID7005238 - Cannot Perform a Filesystem Check on OCFS2
