January 31, 2001

Worldwide Deal to Put Zelerate AllCommerce[tm] on SUSE Linux Professional Packages

LinuxWorld Expo, New York

Zelerate, Inc., the leading provider of accelerated e-commerce solutions, today announced that a developer version of its e-commerce application suite will be bundled with the enterprise version of the Linux operating system distributed by SUSE Linux, the international technology leader and solutions provider in open source operating systems. According to the terms of the agreement, the latest version of Zelerate's end-to-end commerce solution, Zelerate AllCommerce[tm] 1.2, will be bundled with SUSE Linux Professional Edition, which is distributed throughout the Americas, Europe and Asia. While financial terms of the agreement were not announced, both companies expect the combined package to be available this quarter.

"The Linux operating system continues to offer commercial users the most viable option for speed, extensibility and affordability," said Bonnie Crater, president and CEO of Zelerate, Inc. "By bundling our application suite with the version of SUSE Linux popular with IT managers, we look forward to new users and customers throughout the world."

"E-commerce is where Linux is at its best, and Zelerate AllCommerce is one of the most comprehensive and flexible platforms," said Volker Wiegand, president of SUSE Inc. "The combination of both delivers on the promise of cost effective, enterprise level technology--ready for mission-critical use."

Zelerate is the provider of Zelerate AllCommerce and Zelerate Warehouse Management[tm], enterprise-class applications that provide complete order management and fulfillment capabilities. Like the Linux operating system, Zelerate software is distributed under the nonrestrictive General Public License, which allows developers to download and critique source code, while businesses can examine product before purchasing warranties and services. The software--which includes the core set of extensible modules required by all business models with online operations--includes end-user interfaces to provide marketing managers with the ability to easily customize online pricing, inventory and ordering information.

SUSE Linux Professional Edition, which uses the new Linux 2.4 kernel, is a storehouse of Linux power tools, equipping advanced desktop users and IT professionals with a collection of more than 2,500 applications optimized for mission-critical functions. SUSE Linux Professional Edition is an ideal system for Internet and intranet solutions, as well as configuration and protection of heterogeneous networks. Professional users will also benefit from the distribution's vast collection of tools for Web, proxy, mail and news servers.
