zFCP doesn't work anymore after update to maintenance kernel 2.6.16.53-0.16

Environment

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10

Situation

On IBM System z:
After installing the maintenance update Linux kernel 2.6.16.53-0.16, zFCP connections do not work anymore.

Resolution

A new Linux kernel update has been released which fixes the issue. The release number of the updated kernel is 2.6.16.53-0.18.
