Novell Inc., (Nasdaq: NOVL) today announced a strategic partnership with Software AG to accelerate the adoption of Linux in the XML database software market.

Under the agreement Software AG will develop a solution stack based on Novell's SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 9 and its Tamino XML Server and its EntireX Mediator integration product.

"Critically, under this agreement, Novell provides partner support for our SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 9 to Software AG, which will enable it to realise significant overall projects cost savings," said Johan Rosius, Vice President, Alliances, Novell EMEA.
