SUSE Manager Server Migration results in Web UI error 503

Environment

SUSE Manager Server 4.0

Situation

SUSE Manager Server migration from 3.2 to 4.0 results in Web UI error 503. The related error messages inthe logs  are given below.
/etc/apache2/error_log:

Resolution

1)Verify the correct password using the below command
# psql -U susemanager -h 127.0.0.1 susemanager

The correct password results in successfull database login. The wrong password results in the below error:
"psql FATAL password authentication failed for user susemanager"

2)Once the correct password is known, modify the password in the configuration file /etc/rhn/rhn.conf.

3)Restart the spacewalk service.
#spacewalk-service restart

Cause

The password in the configuration files /etc/rhn/rhn.conf and /etc/salt/master.d/susemanager_engine.conf was incorrect.
