Kernel update to version 4.4.156-94.57 breaks virtualization and multipath.

Environment

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12 SP3

Situation

After applying SLES12 SP3 Kernel 4.4.156-94.57-default, any access to multipath devices is refused with an I/O error.
The errors may also be seen when accessing any type of filesystem for example:

Resolution

Resolution:
 
Patch SUSE-SLE-SERVER-12-SP3-2018-2203 was released to address this issue.
The solution to this problem will be to upgrade kernel 4.4.156-94.57, to kernel 4.4.156-94.61.1
