Reorganizing Your SUSE Customer Center. You asked for it (or, at least, some customers did) and here it is: instructions on how to reorganize your account on SUSE Customer Center. If a stack of expired systems is making it hard to administer your current set-ups, click here for easy-to-follow advice.

Unattended Upgrade Feature in SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12. If you are an IT administrator of a large server farm, you can use the Unattended Upgrade feature in SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12 to automatically upgrade to this new version of the operating system from SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 SP3 version. A new guide makes this work quick and easy, reducing downtime, lowering administrative costs and improving quality.  

Introducing systemd: A New System Startup and Service Manager in SUSE Linux Enterprise 12. SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12 replaces the old System V init (SysV init) with systemd, a new system and service manager for Linux.  It changes the way you start up and manage services and introduces a number of new commands and concepts. SUSE and StackVelocity Partner to Accelerate Time to Value When Setting Up an OpenStack Cloud. Delivering a fully orchestrated OpenStack cloud can be complex and time-consuming. Until now. SUSE OpenStack Cloud and StackVelocity are now combined into a reference solution that uses SUSE and StackVelocity software on white box hardware to provide a pre-integrated, optimized and supported configuration ready for deployment. Headquartered in Denmark, Hostnordic is one of Scandinavia’s leading managed services providers. To grow and maximize profitability, the company needed to add a Linux offering to its Microsoft solutions—without increasing headcount. The company chose SUSE Linux Enterprise Server, SUSE Manager and SUSE Manager Management Pack for Microsoft Service Center for their interoperability with its existing environment—and avoided the cost of a 20 percent increase in IT personnel. Inovelan Cuts the Time and Cost of Installing Patient Information Appliances in Half—with SUSE Technologies. Based in France, Inovelan provides innovative solutions for securely sharing health care data. In creating an appliance for secure patient data exchange, Inovelan chose SUSE Linux Enterprise Server as the OS, SUSE Studio to build and configure system images for customized client appliances quickly and easily and SUSE Manager for repeatable, secure system management and maintenance. As a result, the company is now able to install new appliances in approximately half the time and at half the cost. Read more
