I just finished a two week install, test and evaluation of linux clients for my company – The results are in!

I won’t bore you with a list of all the distributions I tested, but it included the usual fedora, ubuntu, redhat, and others.

The results are that Novell scored huge points in the integration department.

It was the only one that met our integration requirements and it did so right out of the box.

Sure it’s true you can bolt on a lot of packages to any distribution and get things to work, but in a company environment like ours, it needs to work right now and without needing a ton of my time.

I succeeded with SUSE Linux in near flawless integration with our primarily Windows based office.

More support from application vendors like Skype would be nice, but that’s about it.

Smooth install, needs met, zero problems, zero questions.
