openSUSE Linux Rants:
Automate Installation of Web Server in openSUSE 10.2 (installs Apache, MySQL, and PHP) – bash script

by Scott Morris

I have put up a bash script for people who want to get a web server installed and running with minimal effort.

It automatically installs everything, sets it up to run when the machine is rebooted, and actually starts the mysql and apache services. It gives some helpful instructions and info when it is finished.

I use it at work when I am setting up such servers. It takes a lot of work out of the process for me. I’m hoping that it will also be useful for other users.
