SUSE & Dell World

Last week, I had the pleasure of attending my second Dell World conference. Dell World is a customer-focused gathering where the good folks from Dell show off the innovations they are making in the market. As a sponsor of the event, SUSE had a presence in areas where, together, we make a difference in the market – in this case it was enterprise computing, integrated systems and cloud.

On the integrated systems front, I met with joint customers that are using SUSE Linux Enterprise Server with Dell PowerEdge hardware to deliver revolutionary solutions to market. One customer described in detail how they migrated their appliance solution from Solaris on SPARC to SUSE on Dell. It was great to see how Dell OEM customers are combining Dell and SUSE products with their intellectual property to create customer-valued solutions in the market.

The other area where I spent a great deal of my time was Cloud – a nebulous topic, I know. Dell and SUSE both are bringing clarity to the market both independently and jointly. Dell’s Joseph George and I had a chance to sit down with Dan Kusnetzky to discuss how our partnership makes a difference for customers. At SUSE, we’re really excited about our partnership with Dell and the game-changing plans we both have to revolutionize the cloud market and enable customers to realize the benefits of enterprise-class cloud computing. You can read Dan’s story on the Virtually Speaking blog at ZDNet.

To see what Dell and SUSE have available to customers today, attend one of our hands-on training events, hosted at Dell Solution Centers. The events are free to qualified SUSE or Dell customers and take place on January 16, 2013, in Chicago, IL, and on January 23, 2013, in Santa Clara, CA. Visit Nathan’s post to learn more.
