Nemrégiben érkezett a hír arról, hogy az Oracle szinte teljes egészében elbocsátotta, illetve átcsoportosította a Solaris és SPARC rendszereken dolgozó szakembergárdáját. Akik ezeket a megoldásokat használják, azokban joggal merül fel a kérdés, hogy vajon merre tudnak továbblépni, ha ezzel együtt a jövőben esetleg teljes egészében megszűnik a támogatás.
