Techwave Hungary drives digital transformation with a future-ready platform for SAP managed services
“We are committed to finding the best technology solutions to keep vital systems running smoothly 24/7, and that is exactly what we are delivering with SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP Applications.” Gabor Lesti, CIO, Techwave Hungary Ltd.
Welcome to the second part of our blog series, highlighting our leading MSPs and the work they do with SUSE. Last time we focused on Glasgow-based Azure Cloud specialists, Servent, and now it is the turn of Hungary’s Techwave.
With the announcement of the next-generation data warehouse solution SAP BW/4HANA and ERP SAP S/4HANA, Techwave Hungary realized that demand for the new analytics and big data insights it powered would soon skyrocket. Techwave set itself up to serve trailblazing organizations, helping them to execute on the digital transformation possibilities offered by the new SAP solution.
To enable this Techwave invested in the new IBM Power Systems server and was soon on the lookout for an operating system that was tightly compatible with the target SAP solutions, whilst being robust enough to deliver 24/7 access to critical business applications.
Techwave Hungary selected SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) for SAP Applications, based on it being SAP’s own preferred platform for SAP S/4HANA and its full certification for next-generation solution suites. The fact that so many leading global businesses trust the SUSE platform also gave Techwave the confidence that it would meet their needs for demanding in-memory workloads.
Enabling long-term success
Using SUSE and IBM solutions, Techwave has successfully scaled its platform, improving its already rigorous service levels for existing customers, while creating the headroom to move new and existing customers to SAP BW/4HANA and ERP SAP S/4HANA.
Techwave has never needed to reboot SLES for SAP Applications because of a memory issue, or experienced downtime when applying patches. This has allowed them to offer their customers the reliability they depend on, and in so doing to meet rigorous service-level agreements around delivering zero unplanned downtime.
Techwave have saved thousands of people hours a year by reducing manual administration requirements when provisioning new SAP environments, freeing time for investment in value-added services that enhance customer satisfaction.
SLES for SAP Applications have increased Techwave’s capacity to take on new business. Setting up an SAP environment—for example, when onboarding a new client—was a manual process that took up to four hours and can now be achieved instantaneously.
Looking to the future, Techwave believes that in SUSE it has found the ideal server platform to support its long-term growth ambitions, by unlocking the game-changing analytics capabilities of SAP S/4HANA and SAP BW/4HANA, whilst offering its customers 24/7 reliability.
