SUSE Teams Up with Veeam for Data Protection Support

Veeam has just granted their Veeam Ready-Repository (and soon, Veeam Ready-Object) designation to SUSE Enterprise Storage 5.5. Now enterprises get a high-performing and flexible backup target with high scalability. How is SUSE making this happen? To start with we have just qualified SES v5.5 as Veeam Ready – Repository for both all-flash (SSD) and traditional (HDD) configurations, making SUSE the only vendor to have multiply-qualified Ceph-based software for varied real-world storage scenarios. Veeam Ready Repository denotes a verified backup storage product that supports all Veeam backup and restore features.

SES is also on the path to obtaining Veeam Ready-Object status – which will signify that SUSE Enterprise Storage is fully compatible and performant with Veeam while using the S3 API set for object storage backup and recovery.
