Today at the Open Source Business Conference,  SUSE and Microsoft announced the a beta version of the latest interoperability project from the companys’ longstanding alliance.  The SUSE Manager Management Pack for System Center connects the Linux server management capabilities provided by SUSE Manager to System Center, Microsoft’s management platform.  As a result, customers will be able to administer both Windows and Linux environments from a single management console.

Both SUSE and Microsoft agree the growth of cloud computing means vendors and communities need to come together to solve interoperability issues in the cloud for the benefit of our customers. SUSE Manager allows customers to decide the placement of Linux workloads where they make sense based on performance, availability and cost, without losing any control.

SUSE Manager’s ability to unleash the potential of virtual and cloud computing is a result of the company’s strong alliances partnerships with major industry leaders to make sure our solutions will work together for our joint customers, out of the box. SUSE Manager directs Linux workloads across a range of hardware from x86 to IBM System z. It works across VMware, Xen, KVM and Hyper-V. And, SUSE Manager works on both public and private clouds including Amazon EC2 and now, Microsoft’s management solution. You can use our solutions with confidence, knowing they have been developed and tested to be compatible.
