SUSE Linux Enterprise 11 Service Pack 4 is available
I love my car. It’s reliable, working well, fitting all my daily needs. I’m perfectly happy to keep it and to make the most out of this investment.
For customers who are using SUSE Linux Enterprise 11 and have a similar plan for their existing workloads as I have with my car, SUSE Linux Enterprise 11 Service Pack 4 (SP4) is for you. Don’t assume SP4 means it’s in the end of lifecycle. It’s not. With a total thirteen years in its lifecycle and Long Term Service Pack Support, SUSE Linux Enterprise 11 can give you up to seven more years (!!) of support. That means you can keep your existing workload running with all the certifications and compatibility unchanged.
And, of course, SP4 offers new features. For example, it supports new hardware architectures, such as the latest Intel Xeon product families, IBM z13 and IBM POWER8 for better performance and power savings. To avoid enumerating all the details here, I suggest you read about what’s new for SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 SP4 and what’s new for SUSE Linux Enterprise High Availability Extension 11 SP4.
Feel free to give SP4 a try. SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 Service Pack 4 is also available on public cloud providers: Amazon EC2, Google Compute Engine, HP Helion and Microsoft Azure.
