As an independent organization led by volunteers, GUIDE SHARE EUROPE (GSE) has become the premier IBM User Group in Europe. GSE is a non-profit association of companies, organizations and individuals who are involved in the development and promotion of ICT solutions based on IBM architectures. Active member participation is encouraged and fostered by providing numerous opportunities to share ideas and solutions with industry colleagues, both on a regional and international level.

GSE is organised in 10 regions: Austria & Central Europe, Belgium/Luxembourg, France, Germany, Italy/Greece, Nordic, Spain, Switzerland/Liechtenstein, The Netherlands and United Kingdom. Via working groups and regional conferences and events, GSE provides its members a great platform to exchange experience and information, to cooperate with product and service providers, and also to influence the European standards in ICT.

This week, the GSE UK group holds its annual conference. The conference takes place on Tuesday 13th November and Wednesday 14th November 2012, at Whittlebury Hall Hotel, Spa and Management Training Centre Whittlebury, Towcester, Northamptonshire.

SUSE highly acknowledges the importance of regional activities and events as ideal platforms for direct interaction with our customers and partners. Thus we participate in GSE UK as a Gold Sponsor. As a highlight, Marcus Kraft, Senior Product Manager and one of our Gurus for Linux on System z, will give a presentation about “Software Lifecycle Management with SUSE” and explains the different aspects and levels of how an enterprise Linux distribution is drafted, build, and maintained.

If you want to learn more about upcoming GSE activities in your region, there is a GSE event website http://
