In November 2016 at SUSECon we announced our newest version of SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) 12 SP2 in Azure.

In January 2017, in addition to SLES, SLES for SAP Applications 12 SP1 and SP2 became available in Azure too.

It’s Springtime now – go and try out new things on Microsoft Azure.

Did you know how easy it is to use SLES within MS Azure?

Have a look at this short video ( https://youtu.be/ufeTb7DQAow ) and see how easy it is to start a SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) in MS Azure.

Did you further know which great additions build in into our on-demand/pay-as-you-go images within MS Azure?

  • All modules and the SDK are instantly available in order to have access to the over 3000 packages we provide with SLES – ready at your fingertips:

SLES Pool
Public cloud Module
Web and Scripting Module
Advanced System Management Module
Containers Module
Toolchain Module
Legacy Module
Software Development Kit (SDK)
all update repositories to get updates, bugfixes and security updates

  • The Public Cloud Module is enabled by default. It contains many useful tools and makes it easy to work with Linux on Azure

One example is the Public cloud INformation Tracker (pint) tool
another pre-installed and running “waagent” (package python-azure-agent) from Azure.
or the “azurectl” commandline utility (package python-azurectl),
or the MS Linux Integration Services.

  • As the SSH server is enabled by default you can directly start to work with your virtual machine.
  • And if you work in a DevOps environment you will be happy that docker is pre-installed too.

What are you waiting for – shake off the winter hibernation and try out SUSE Linux Enterprise Sever (SLES) in MS Azure

Have a lot of fun…
