Modern data centers – like the one our sysadmin Alfred is working in – have many different operating systems on different architectures to administrate. With the release of Machinery 1.4.0, Alfred is now able to inspect many more systems in his data center.
The Machinery team is happy to announce the release of Machinery 1.4.0. Machinery is a systems management toolkit for Linux: http://machinery-project.org
This release introduces inspection of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 systems. In combination with the previously introduced inspection support for the architectures System z and IBM Power (LE) Machinery is now able to inspect an even wider range of systems.
The detailed change log can be found in the announcement on the Machinery mailing list.
For SUSE Linux Enterprise 12, the new Machinery version will soon be available as an online update to the „Advanced Systems Management“ module. It is also available for openSUSE via http://machinery-project.org
If you’re using Machinery, please provide feedback on the mailing list or on this blog entry. Tell us how Machinery helps you doing your job better – and the problems you hit in system administration where you hope that Machinery could help.
