Key Takeaways from HPE Discover 2025

HPE Discover 2025 was a phenomenal event, and even though it’s been a couple of weeks, I still feel energized by the fantastic conversations I had with our customers, HPE executives, and valued partners. The message from everyone was loud and clear: the future is open, flexible, and puts you in control.

Our SUSE booth was buzzing, and it was a thrill to showcase our deep, year partnership with HPE. Together, we are delivering powerful, enterprise-grade solutions that empower organizations to break free from vendor lock-in.

Here are my top takeaways from the show floor:

A lightbulb moment for many I spoke with was learning that SUSE can support and manage virtually any major Linux distribution—not just SLES. Virtualization Reimagined: Simple, Unified, and UI-Driven

Nearly every conversation I had touched on the need for  to virtualization. The old way of managing VMs and containers in separate, complex silos is over. People were tired of command-line headaches. The excitement was palpable when we showed how SUSE Virtualization, managed through the beautiful SUSE Rancher UI, brings VMs and containers together on a single platform. Features like live migration and snapshots are now at your fingertips, simplifying operations for everyone. Our packed speaking session on this topic proved just how ready the industry is for this change!

Powering the Future of AI

The buzz at last year’s Discover was all around Artificial Intelligence (AI).  AI implementations have moved forward very quickly in just 12 months.  It’s clear the future of AI isn’t just about innovative models; it’s about building the secure, open, and scalable foundation to power what’s next. Customers are looking for an open, trusted, and vendor-agnostic platform for their AI initiatives. The enthusiasm for SUSE AI was immense because we deliver an enterprise-grade solution that grants them the freedom to choose the best models and tools, all while maintaining full control over their data and infrastructure—from the edge to the core to the cloud.

Beyond the keynotes and sessions, our booth was a hub of activity with live demos and a very popular claw machine with great prizes.! From our joint solutions for SAP S/4HANA to deploying at scale with HPE GreenLake, our partnership with HPE is stronger than ever.
