Readers vote for SUSE as best DevOps solution, Gold and Silver Awards for Software Defined Infrastructure and Software Defined Storage

Third year in a row, about 32.000 readers of the seven Insider-portals BigData-Insider, CloudComputing-Insider, DataCenter-Insider, Dev-Insider, IP-Insider, Security-Insider and Storage-Insider have voted for the best IT solutions in Germany.

The place to be for German IT experts was definitely last Thursday’s IT-Awards gala in Augsburg. For SUSE it turned out to be a glittering event with three awards: the Platinum IT Award makes SUSE first in reader’s choice for DevOps, Gold Award for Software Defined Infrastructure and Silver Award for Software Defined Storage. Three areas where SUSE shows its 25 years plus expertise in turning IT innovation into hardened reliable Enterprise solutions supported by a large partner eco-system. These IT-Awards are also a recognition and award for the open source community.

From Infrastructure as a Service to software-defined networking and storage, most of the innovative flagship technology driving digital transformation is based on open source. In the open-source community, the desire for progress is a shared goal — thousands of inventive people joining forces with major brands and companies in a strong financial position to work on existing projects and to develop exciting new ideas. Examples include Linux, which last year celebrated its 25th anniversary, new projects such as OpenStack and CloudFoundry, and the bundling of Ceph with software-defined storage to significantly reduce CAPEX and enable scalable storage.

Thank you to all who have voted for SUSE – we will do our best to continue developing IT-solutions that help you succeed with your business.

Special thanks to René Hoferichter, Account Executive Public Sector at SUSE for the photos.
