Day 3 Part I – The final morning keynote!
Last keynote from the Exec team kicks off day 3 of SUSECON 2017 with Ralf Flaxa joining Michael Miller and Thomas Di Giacomo on stage.
Today they talked about DevOps and how it develops the latest and greatest technology to drive faster innovation – and the disjoint that exists between Developers and the operational group, who are responsible for delivering rock solid production services.
As Ralf said “They will be friends, but there is also a chaotic disconnect. It’s no different in SUSE Engineering. We are asked to deliver stable, dependable enterprise products while we are living in and leveraging the Open Source community. That is hard to balance, but we’ve found the secret sauce.”
We also welcomed to the stage Gary Thome, HPE’s VP and Chief Technologist, Software Defined Infrastructure and Cloud, who talked about the partnership and how we have worked to package SUSE Enterprise Storage with servers like Apollo and Proliant, and how they have recently introduced SUSE Enterprise Storage on HPE Synergy.
We also talked to SUSE Engineering, discussing how our own innovation cycle is spinning faster and faster and the way we cope with that in SUSE Linux Enterprise and other products.
To find out more about Ralf’s REAL secret sauce and to hear from HPE and SUSE Engineering, watch the keynote video here.
