Data Exploding at Rapid Rates? Meet your Storage Needs at SUSECON 2017
Are you taking the dive into data analytics for better business intelligence, but facing huge limitations? In need of storing larger data-sets while still maintaining optimum performance? If you’re at the end of your rope with ever changing storage needs, you’re not alone. A few months ago, Experian found themselves in a similar situation.
Experian began incorporating new data feeds into their core databases and immediately went from producing a few gigabytes a month to hundreds of gigabytes an hour. And that’s where the problems began. While Experian had great success running ZFS as a primary storage platform, it had its weaknesses: standalone NASes platforms were insufficient, shuffling data stores between devices took days to complete, high availability was nonexistent and their systems could not accommodate the customer demand for 24/7 real-time access to data.
How would Experian resolve these issues? Enter SUSE Enterprise Storage. Experian implemented SUSE Enterprise Storage, version 3, based on Ceph and Experian received everything it needed for file and block storage and snapshots to run well on their existing HPE DL380 platform. It didn’t happen by chance and it surely wasn’t magic.
This year at SUSECON 2017 in the historic city of Prague, representatives from Experian will join SUSE experts to discuss their journey to SUSE Enterprise Storage and why, if you’re facing similar issues, you should consider the migration as well. In addition to the SUSECON session featuring Experian’s migration, be sure to add these storage sessions to your itinerary as well.
