Can we have a 2016 recap on all the cool stuff we did with HPE?
Some may say 2016 was a tough year…
Not to us, it wasn`t. It was actually pretty great!
As you may be aware, SUSE was named HPE`s preferred open source partner for Linux, OpenStack and Cloud Foundry solutions a couple of weeks ago during HPE Discover London 2016.
This happened a couple of months after the merger announcement… NO! HPE has not bought SUSE. YES! SUSE’s parent company Micro Focus announced its intent to merge with HPE’s Software Business Segment. 🙂
And going back in time a little bit, we launched an awesome Software Defined Storage Solution that takes advantage of SUSE Enterprise Storage on HPE Apollo and Proliant servers.
With that, SUSE Enterprise Storage is HPE’s only certified, supported, and sold Ceph-based storage solution and we already have our 1st success story on video surveillance for a police department.
So again, A LOT has happened in 2016!
And, of course, we have a huge to-do list for 2017. Who doesn`t?
And as we are taking our relationship further, we are both always available to our customers and partners through our web-pages at hpe.com/partners/suse and suse.com/hpe (please check us out!) and also in-person during events, such as:
- SUSECon: Where HPE was a Cornerstone sponsor and we had Scott Farrand, HPE VP of Platform Software, on stage (starting at 2 min) talking about our long time partnership.
- HPE Discover: Where SUSE is a long-time sponsor and, just a few weeks ago, we were in London promoting our Storage and SAP
- HPE Technology and Solutions Summit (HPE TSS): Were we are always chatting with HPE technical teams and Channel Partners. If you are one of those, we`ll see you in Cannes in Feb!
Our next step, after our most recent announcement, is to bring together HPE’s Helion OpenStack and Stackato solutions with SUSE’s OpenStack expertise to provide best-in-class enterprise-grade hybrid cloud offerings for HPE customers.
So, stay tuned for more but first… let`s all enjoy our holidays.
2017 is coming up fast!!
