EDI messaging solution from Lymeware Software demonstrates how security, management and monitoring tools are evolving and adapting to new virtual environments
Software appliances can help simplify a business’s IT infrastructure, helping our customers leverage Lymeware products without major hardware and operating system investment. We think easy-to-use and deploy software appliances such as our new IAgent3 appliance built on Novell SUSE Linux Enterprise present compelling opportunities for our telecommunication customers. We’re excited to extend our partnership with Novell in this evolving virtualization and cloud computing space.
Carl Fox—Vice President & Chief Financial Officer, Lymeware Corporation
Built with SUSE Studio, Lymeware quickly launched their IAgent3 software appliance, an commerce-class secure EDI messaging solution, that is pre-installed on a SUSE image, for either VMware or Xen virtualization platforms or x86 patforms. By packaging their popular IAgent3 software into a virtualized format, Lymeware is able to expand its offering to their large base of telecommunication customers.
As an ISV, Lymeware found that the SUSE Appliance Program from Novell was instrumental in helping them get to market with a new solution that required minimal local technical resources. The appliance form factor helps the company standardize the same operating system image easily to different virtualization formats simplifying deployment, support and maintenance for their end customers. And that is value to any ISV!
