With the official release of SUSE Linux Enterprise 12 SP3 (SLE 12 SP3), the SUSE Partner Engineering team also announces the availability of the YES Certification Kit version 7.7 for hardware systems.

The System Certification Kit (SCK) v7.7 adds certification support for SLE 12 SP3 including XEN and KVM Virtualization and supports the following hardware platforms:

  • Intel 64/AMD64 (x86-64 including Virtual Host Environments)
  • IBM z Systems (s390x)
  • IBM Power (ppc64Ie)
  • AArch64 (ARMv8)

In addition to adding support for SLE 12 SP3, the SCK v7.7 has added test modules and enhanced existing certification tests to better align with SLE 12 SP3 functionality. Upgrading to the SCK v7.7 will not require new equipment, hardware or upgraded TestConsole operating system. It should be a seamless, inline upgrade.

The SCK 7.7 is to be used for all future certification testing effective immediately. There is however a grace period for certification testing efforts that began prior to the release of SCK v7.7. The deadline for submissions with the legacy SCK v7.6 is October 07, 2017.  After this date, no submissions generated with SCK v7.6 will be accepted.

Note: all submissions for SLE 12 SP3 MUST be generated by the SCK v7.7

SUSE hardware partners with a current Developer Services contract, can now test Servers, Workstations, POS Terminals, Desktops, Laptops and Virtualization Environments with SLE 12 SP3, and submit these test results to request YES Certification.
