In a SUSE® Linux Enterprise Point of Service system, posAdmin.pl is a command line tool used to add, modify, remove, or query Branch Server and Point of Service Terminal information in the LDAP directory. Starting with an overview of mandatory LDAP objects and general command line options for posAdmin.pl, in the following sections learn how to define objects for Branches and Point of Service Terminals and how to manage image objects with posAdmin.pl. Find out which posAdmin.pl options to use for modifying, removing or querying LDAP entries and how to update hardware information for specific Point of Service Terminals, if needed.

Each LDAP object has two types of attributes: must and may attributes. The must attributes are the minimum requirements for an object. The may attributes are optional. This table lists only those may attributes that are relevant to SUSE Linux Enterprise Point of Service.
