What is it about?

The aim of this program is to provide customers with a great variety of applications which are not just running, but also tested and supported on the SUSE LINUX enterprise platforms. Customers can then have the confidence that the application they need is really tested and working. As an application provider, you and your company can benefit from the increased demand generated by this certainty.

How can you participate?

For the impatient ones, the short version:

1. Download the SUSE LINUX Enterprise platform from here.
2. Port/Develop and test your application on SUSE LINUX
3. Make sure your application follows the SUSE LINUX READY Guidelines
4. Inform SUSE that your application is running, tested and supported so we can make customers and other partners aware of this via our SUSE LINUX Solution Directory
5. Use the SUSE LINUX READY Logo to promote your solution and increase your business

Now for the more detailed version:

1. Getting SUSE LINUX is very easy: Go to the SUSE LINUX READY Program Registration Website, accept the terms and conditions, register and you will receive further information in a Welcome Email.

   If you want to develop your application for platforms other than x86, x86-AMD 64 or IPF, then we suggest you become a member of the SUSE Technology Partner Program which offers access to all SUSE Software, Support, Marketing Materials, the ability to place News on our website, and much more. A detailed description can be found in the Technology Partner Program Guide, downloadable as a PDF document.

2. If you have already developed an application then port it to SUSE LINUX. If your application has not yet been developed, you can use the numerous tools included with the SUSE LINUX Operating Systems. If you feel you need help from Linux Experts, SUSE is ready to assist you during this process. Additionally, Novell offers a moderated Chat Room for Developers on SUSE LINUX which you will be granted access to. Further information is also included in the Welcome Email.

3. SUSE LINUX products offer a very high level of quality. As we are committed to maintaining, and even increasing this level, we demand that our partners offer the same high standard in their products as well. To ensure this, the following requirements have been set up: Requirements

   Accepting these requirements is a necessity for taking part in the SUSE LINUX READY Program and by fulfilling these requirements you are demonstrating your commitment to SUSE LINUX and our mutual customers.

4. Once your application is running, tested and supported, inform us about this. Detailed information on how this is done is included in the Welcome Email. After receiving this piece of information from you, we will send you the SUSE LINUX READY Logo which you may use under the terms of our Logo Usage Guidelines and we publish your application in our SUSE LINUX Solution Directory
